The Sound of American Brass Heritage

Holton’s story began in 1896 when Frank Holton, fresh from performing with Sousa’s legendary band, opened a modest Chicago workshop selling second-hand instruments and his now-famous Electric Oil slide lubricant. What started as a one-man operation grew rapidly as Holton introduced his first “Holton Special” trombone and expanded into a full brass range trusted by top professionals—including a young Vincent Bach.
