Conn Selmer is a global leader in musical instrument craftsmanship, proudly supporting musicians at every level – from beginners discovering their first instrument to professionals performing on the world’s greatest stages. Home to legendary brands such as Bach, Conn, King, Holton, Selmer, Armstrong, Leblanc, Ludwig, Musser and Scherl & Roth, we are committed to preserving a legacy of excellence, innovation, and artistry.

A Legacy of Innovation

Conn Selmer’s story is built on a century of musical excellence. Formed through the merger of renowned industry leaders – including the Selmer Company, Steinway Piano Company, and United Musical Instruments (UMI) – our combined heritage has shaped modern music across the world.

In 2013, Conn Selmer and Steinway transitioned to private ownership under Paulson & Co. Today, as a subsidiary of Steinway Musical Instruments, Inc., we remain dedicated to producing instruments that embody precision, durability, and exceptional tonal quality.

I would like to sell/buy a used instrument on an online auction. Can you tell me more about it?2026-01-21T10:48:49+00:00

We are unable to address requests for information pertaining to online auctions of musical instruments. We deal in newly manufactured instruments only and unfortunately cannot assess value, identify or give specs on older models. You may wish to contact your local Conn Selmer dealer for assistance. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to any Conn Selmer instrument. Alternatively, you may wish to do an online search to locate additional information on your instrument.

How much is my old instrument worth?2026-01-21T10:48:37+00:00

Like any antique or collectible, the “value” or “worth” of your instrument rests in finding the right buyer. Conn Selmer, Inc. does not deal in used, collectible or antique instruments. We do not offer appraisals either. Many dealers and music stores around the U.S. offer such evaluations. You may also wish to consider these external internet sources:

How do I get my instrument repaired? It is still under warranty?2026-01-21T10:47:11+00:00

We require all warranty repair requests and inquiries to go back through the dealer that you purchased your instrument from. We do this because we do not have access to information such as whom a dealer sold something to or when they sold it, which dictates the warranty period. You will want to contact the dealer you bought your instrument from to discuss whether or not it still carries a factory warranty for repairs.

What is the price on a Conn Selmer, Inc. instrument?2026-01-21T10:46:40+00:00

Conn Selmer, Inc. publishes manufacturer suggested retail prices (MSRP) for the United States only. These prices serve as a guideline. Dealers and music stores across the U.S. determine their own selling prices. Distributors and dealers outside the U.S. also set their own prices. Please consider more than price when buying a musical instrument, taking into account other important factors such as service, maintenance and repair, and other support that music stores can provide during and after the purchase.

I found a Prop 65 warning on my Conn Selmer product. What does it mean?2025-12-29T15:27:38+00:00

“This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm,” is not what you expect to see when you open your new instrument case, bag or hardware accessory. You may even find it alarming. However, if you live in the state of California and look around, you will find this warning on items in your home, in restaurants and even theme parks.

This warning is the result of a law passed in California in 1986, referred to as the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, or more generally referred to as “Proposition 65.”
