Louise Pollock
Current Roles & Appointments
Louise Pollock is Principal Trombone with the Gothenburg Opera in Sweden and a faculty member at the Gothenburg University Academy of Music and Drama.
Awards & Competitions
She is a prize-winning musician, having received both First Prize and the Audience Prize at the International Aeolus Competition for Wind Instruments in 2016. She was also awarded the prestigious Stipendiat des Deutschen Musikrates at the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb in 2014.
Solo Performances
Louise has appeared as a soloist with leading orchestras including the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, Zürcher Kammerorchester, Gothenburg Opera Orchestra, and the Duisburger Philharmoniker.
Orchestral Experience
Prior to her current role in Gothenburg, she performed with the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker for three years, gaining extensive orchestral experience.
Festivals & Appearances
She has been featured at major international events such as the Tourbon Brass Festival, Bjergsted Brass Festival in Stavanger, and the International Trombone Festival.
Education & Training
Louise studied at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg in Germany with Branimir Slokar, where she received her Bachelor of Music with distinction. She continued her studies with Henning Wiegräbe at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, completing her Master of Music.
